Andwa Consulting - Getting Stuff Done for Over 20 Years

My name is Rhonda Scheurer. I'm the president of Andwa Consulting and the proud developer and owner of the Andwa Event and Member Management System.

Andwa Consulting is my company, and I do a number of things with it. I have been in Information Technology for over twenty years and do some software, web site, and database development and maintenance - on my own, and in partnership with Headway Systems. I also help organizations with process change, with internet communication strategies, with document collaboration plans, and more. As an IT professional, I am very well-rounded with a broad knowledge and experience base, and broad interests. I will stubbornly refuse to "get in the box" if you try to put me into a "you're a developer" box or a "you're an analyst" box, or whatever other box you may try to place me in. You can get more information about my specific experience from my resume.

My broadness of skill and interest is my best professional asset. What I specialize in, therefore, is getting stuff done. Through the years I have seen so many things that would have been great... if only they'd gotten done (or gotten done right). I bet you've seen your share of those things, too. If we work together, my guarantee is that if I say something is going to get done, that means it's going to get done, and it's going to get done right. I know, it's a pretty ambitious claim in a world where so many things just don't get done. I can provide references (real ones, from real people). See some here:

  1. Bridget Warner: Multi-Project Client/Colleague
  2. Andrew Jevne: Moodle project at NorQuest
  3. Stephen Smith: Web Project Client (Glacier Mountaineers)
  4. Ken Kaldenhoven: PRAS project at NorQuest
  5. Niraj Pancholi: Team member at NorQuest
  6. Ken Kaldenhoven: Ed Tech re-org at NorQuest
Small Businesses: I do a lot of work for small business and volunteer organizations. Do you have a process that is out of control? Too many mistakes being made? Taking up way more time than it should? Complaints from clients, vendors or partners? I may be able to help - let's explore some potential solutions. Maybe you need some software or a database, or maybe you need to modify a process. As an independent consultant, I am very affordable for the little guys. "But, Rhonda," you say... "You're an IT Consultant. You can't be affordable - that's a contradiction in terms!" I say you can't know that until we've at least had the conversation. Some specific items that I'm pretty gosh darned good at that may be of use to you:
- Database and report development
- Software implementation
- Internet Communication Strategies (definition and implementation). Sample 1, Sample 2.
- Document Collaboration Plans and Consolidated E-Mail Accounts (definition and implementation)

Special Offer: I am currently doing up to five hours per week of gratis IT work (with no more than two hours per week going to any specific client). Anything that I can/will do for pay qualifies for this offer. The catch is that I will ask you for a referral... either an actual work referral, or a letter of reference which will be included on this page. Contact me for more information.

IT Shops: I am very knowledgeable in SDLC and ITIL. Let's face it... I've been around the IT block a few times, and I've done just about everything a person can do with software development, implementation, support and management. I can help with process analysis and implementation, including ITIL Incident Management and Change Management.

Company Name: Wondering how to pronounce my odd company name? Here's an interesting (probably only to me and my sister) bit of trivia about where the name came from. When I started my company in 2001, it was intended to be used only for invoicing for a short-term contract that I had accepted. No one (except the AP Clerk at my client) would ever see it. At the time, I was living with my sister and my three-year-old nephew. My nephew, Jake, wasn't able to say "Rhonda" - instead he called me "Andwa" (the "And" part being pronounced like the "o" sound in "Rhonda", not like the "a" sound in "and"). Since the company name wasn't going to matter to anyone, I just called it "Andwa Consulting" in honor of my entertaining nephew. As it would happen, my short-term contract lasted for several years, and I ended up doing more and more things with Andwa Consulting... and I've been explaining the company name ever since. Wondering how to pronounce my mouthful of a last name? I'd like to hear your best guess before I give up that piece of information.
