~ When Lake O'Hara hands you lemons, make Lake O'Loser lemonade! ~

Didn't make it onto the Winners Lake O'Hara event at http://www.andwa.com/events/details.asp?eventid=696?eventid=696????

Then you're an LOL (Lake O'Loser)!

Lake O'Losers is the Plan B for those of us not quick enough with the speed dial, who were not able to get sites at Lake O'Hara for the Labour Day-long.

The Plan:

Just a few minutes drive away from the Lake O'Hara access point is Takakkaw Falls, a lovely walk-in campsite with great amenities. You can fall asleep to the sound of the Falls, have campfires, have access to water and great washrooms.

Reserve your seat on the 8:30 a.m. bus to Lake O'Hara and spend Friday hiking with the Winners.

Go up Thursday night to ensure a camping spot and stay the weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday we can either return to Lake O' or do some of the area's great hikes, such as Skyline Trail, Little Yoho, Emerald Lake, etc.

We'll pack up and head home Monday morning.

Note: if you give me your credit card number and license plate as well as home address, I will get you sites for either Thursday night or Friday morning before we leave for the Lake O'Hara bus. Otherwise, the campground is first-come, first serve, self-registration with designated sites.

No carpool will be arranged.

Please note that people are welcome to share gear and tents but please make your own arrangements. Thank you!

Required Items to Bring:
Gear and supplies for 3 nights/4 days. Camping fees are $17.60 per night. An additional $8.80 is applied for the fire permit, but Jorinda will be purchasing one for her site and is happy to share.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Life-of-Brian-esque attitude and salty treats to bribe the coordinators with.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take the TCH to the Takakkaw Falls turn-off a few km before Field. Drive all the way to the top, and go left into the parking area as far as you can. The short walk-in road to the backcountry campground is to your farthest left. Note that this campground has carts to haul in your things.
