OUR TRADITIONS, presented by Enbridge\nEPCOR CENTRE's Jack Singer Concert Hall\n(120 Minutes)\n Traditional West Coast Mask Dance Troupe from Hazelton BC.\n 'Ksan Performing Arts Group are cultural ambassadors for the \nGitxsan people. They have performed throughout the province, \nacross Canada, and around the world demonstrating through \ntraditional song and dance the richness of our culture.\n\n 'Ksan, the Gitxsan name for the Skeena River (\"River of Mist\"), is \na Treasure House Museum & Historical Village standing where \nthe village of Gitanmaax existed for centuries. The European way \ndid not infringe there as early as in most of North America; a \nvirtually unbroken lifeline to the ancestors has been lovingly \nmaintained. The troupe was created in the late sixties, with the \nintention of preserving and truthfully portraying the stature, \nrichness, and sophistications of Gitxsan society and culture. \n EXHIBITION: WHEN WE ARE ONE\n \n Traditional Gitxsan mask figures & objets d'art pose questions of \nfaith, spirituality & post-contact life in juxtaposition to photos of \nthe Tshimphsian village of Hartley Bay.
