Check-in: 2:00; check-out: 12:00 Paid washer and dryer in unit Paid 61.07 on Sept 20. Remainder due later Free cancellation before Feb 5 we did not have a good experience at this Airbnb. Here’s my review: ‘Bait and Switch’ warning I booked months in advance, and Cadereyta was one of six places I was staying over the course of a month. I was booked to spend two nights. There was almost no communication from Emilia leading up to check-in. On check-in date, I realized 30- minutes before check-in that she hadn’t sent check-in information, nor the door code. I contacted her to get the check-in information, and she said she wanted to speak on the phone and asked if I speak Spanish. I speak only a little. I tried to contact her with WhatsApp, with my Mexican phone, and my husband’s Mexican phone but could not get through on her number. She sporadically contacted me through Airbnb suggesting other methods to speak. I asked her repeatedly to send the check-in information. After about one hour she sent (through Airbnb) a code to get the property key. We got into the building, but she hadn’t provided the room number/name so we didn’t know which room was ours. Finally we got ahold of her by phone and she had her English-speaking husband explain that they were putting us in a different room than the one we had reserved because the room we were supposed to be in has poor Wifi. I discovered that the room we reserved rents for 40% more than the alternate room. We paid $305CAD for two nights in the room which would normally be $238CAD. When I asked for a partial refund, she responded (around 10pm, after I was asleep) that it was my choice to take the alternate and we could switch to the original room and provided the access code for the original room at that time. At the time of writing this review there has been no further acknowledgement of my request for a partial refund. Anyway, the Lulu room was quite nice and we liked it. It was just ‘tainted’ from the feeling of being bait-and-switched. ———Note to the host: I’m sorry for giving you a bad review, but I cannot lie and say we had a good experience. This could have been a good experience for us if: 1. You had communicated the issue with Paloma Room well in advance of check-in, and 2. Gave us the option, well in advance of check-in, to choose to switch or not. Be aware that I did not rate your communication badly because of our language barrier. I rated it badly because you provided no check-in instructions prior to check-in time, and only provided it after check-in time at my insistence. You also provided no check-out instructions. | ||
