Using aseptic technique and local anaesthesia, a skin incision was made and the implanted vascular access device was removed in its entirety, without complication. Postprocedure fluoroscopy demonstrates no radiopaque foreign body. The wound was closed with dissolvable, deep, interrupted 4-0 Vicryl and staples, the latter of which will require removal in 8 - 10 days.
