| Getting the port put in today was a relief. I'm glad I won't have to get an IV every time they want to give me an IV. I think for my regular heart tests they still will, because I don't think they're approved to use the port, but at least my future infusions can be done through the port.\n I was given a local anesthetic, put in the \"cone of shame\" (a drape over my head... not sure if that was so I couldn't look at the doctor, or he didn't have to look at me), and zippidee-doo-dah, I have a port. I also have staples closing one of my incisions, which is quite uncomfortable, but, whatevs.\n The doctor threaded the catheter into one of my veins heading for my heart. It's creepy af, but I still think it'll be better than getting all the IVs. Thankfully my nausea has lightened up considerably. I can eat mostly normally now, and I did. After I got the port in, Brent took me to Burger Baron for a mushroom burger and a milkshake.
