| FB Post: Back to the ER at the Sturgeon with chest pain. Woo-freakin’-hoo.\n The paramedics who came think it is nothing (just the position I was laying, not a cardiac event). But protocol demands that I get looked at so that’s what’s happening. 14 hours and I’m released but I still don’t have results for the blood clot test on my leg. They discharged me so I can make it to Shoppers on time to get my white blood cell booster (the expensive poke) before they close until Monday morning. If I have a blood clot I’ll be called back in to the Sturgeon for treatment. 16-Hour Saga:\n Went to bed at 11:15, laying on left side\n Approx 11:30, pain across upper back\n Approx 11:40, pain extends across chest\n Approx 12:00, got up, pain starts to dissipate \n Phoned 811, they questioned me and recommended phoning 911\n Phoned 911\n Paramedics attended approx 12:15\n\n Heart trace performed, looked ok\n Recommended trying to lay in bed\n Returned to bed, laying on left side\n After approx 5 min pain started in upper back on left side only and quickly spread to chest on left side only\n\n Paramedics said they believe pain is positional and not cardiac, but they can’t rule it out without blood work \n Recommended follow up:\n - they can take me to hospital\n - We can drive me to hospital\n - I can follow up with my GP\n\n We decided to drive me to Sturgeon in our own vehicle \n\n Arrived at the Sturgeon approx 1:00\n Triaged and registered\n Approx 1:30 blood draw for heart enzyme test and EKG\n Approx 3:45 saw nurse. Gave history and had blood pressure check\n 5:50 Doctor arrived. Took some history, did an ultrasound, advised a chest XRay and CT Scan\n 6:00 nurse visit to do EKG\n 6:10 nurse visit to do blood draw for heart enzyme test \n 6:25 nurse visit for blood pressure \n 6:35 chest XRay\n 7:00 blood draw results on AHS website indicate heart enzyme (Troponin) in normal range but D-Dîmer is high (1.44 with normal being < .5). D-Dimer indicates blood clotting. \n 7:40 IV installation \n 7:50 CT Scan\n 8:40 Magnesium IV - one hour. Wow. Dr noticed left calf swollen so ordered an ultrasound\n 9:45 Waiting for ultrasound on leg\n 2:15 Ultrasound on leg\n 3:00 Discharged without ultrasound results. \n\n 3:30 raced to Shoppers for my expensive poke (white blood cell booster)\n\n 5:00 results of ultrasound show no sign of blood clot
