Itinerary:

Camping at Lake Louise Campground
Cost per night at campground is approx $27.70/night + gst + reservation fee (based on 2011 rates). Check-in time is 2PM. There are a large number of sites to choose from, 206 to be exact. Please make your own camping reservations - online or by phone. 50% of it is reservable, the other 50% is on a first-come basis. Reservations are strongly suggested. Parks staff say it is easier to group people together who make reservations together all at the same time; however, just let them know you are with my group when you get there as they make site assignments at arrival check-in time.

The entire soft-sided tent camping area is enclosed by an electric fence for safety and protection ... of the animals from us I suspect ;-)
Click on this link and then scroll to the bottom of page for photos of tent-only campground.

Some are leaving Calgary Friday around noon, some may be leaving Thursday afternoon or evening. Please make your own carpool arrangements; coordinator will not be facilitating carpools. Everyone is welcome to join us at any time through the weekend. I'll have my cell on so you can text me if you want to let me know when you get there and where you are. Check in time at the campground is 2PM.

We will plan activities around people's preferences, interests and arrival times - I'll probably be looking at the moderate hikes at my usual slow pace.

We have a variety of interests among registered participants, so hike options are available, depending upon snowpack and trail conditions.

The speed limit through Banff National Park has been reduced to 70km/hr in some areas to protect wildlife crossing the Trans Canada Highway.

Required Items to Bring:
- Camping & hiking gear + food.
- National Park Pass or $$'s to pay for admission for the weekend
- Reservation confirmation number if you have made one in advance
- Rain gear and warm layers, including a toque and gloves
- extra blankets - it gets cold at night up there at this time of year!
