The Greater Bragg Creek Trails Association has completed the first of its planned new trails at West Bragg. The new 5.4 km trail starts and finishes at West Bragg parking lot. One trailhead is about half-way along the western section of the parking lot; the other in the northwest corner of the eastern section. The trail is broken and easy to follow, and has been signed for snowshoeing in either direction. There are several short, steep sections which give it a rating of “moderate”.

We'll do the 5.5 of the actual snowshoe trail and then muck around a bit on Telephone Trail to increase our distance/duration.

Distance: 8-10 km
Elevation gain: Approximate 45 m/148 ft gain/loss

You must have some kind of ice cleats or crampons to complete this hike (no icers/spikes - no hike).

Take Hwy 1 out of Calgary to the Bragg Creek turnoff. Take Hwy 22 south to Bragg Creek. Turn right at the 4-way stop, then left at the T-intersection. Continue to the West Bragg Creek Parking area.
