Healy Creek lower trail:
4.8 km one way, elevation gain 20 m
Trackset
Trailhead: Sunshine Village Road, 0.3 km from the Trans-Canada Highway
Description: A rolling forested trail. Don’t confuse this trail with the section of Healy Creek up toward Healy Pass!

Along the trail, we will intersect with a couple other trails, giving us options:
- Brewster Creek: 11 km one way, elevation gain 170 m
Trackset
Description: Branches off the Healy Creek Trail (#6); follows an old road through dense forest; the moderate climb turns into a quick ski on the way out. A good turn around point at 11 km is Sundance Lodge (services available by prior arrangement).
- Sundance Canyon loop:
Sundance: 3.7 km one way, elevation gain 30 m

Description: Good views along the banks of the Bow River followed by a gentle climb up to Sundance Canyon. Snow cover often thin due to wind exposure. Frequent pedestrian use may have damaged the ski track.

Our plan is to go as far as we feel like going in one direction, and then turn around in order to be back at the trailhead by 4pm at the latest.

- xc skis, poles, and boots
- lunch, snacks and water
- ski wax if required
- warm layers

- thermos with warm drinks

Event Directions:

Take the #1 highway 9 km past Banff to the Sunshine Village Interchange. Approx 0.3km up the Sunshine Village Road is the parking area for Healy Creek trail head. Park there.
